Sony Ericsson Reports Q3 Improvements

Sony EricssonFollowing a long period of slowing sales and general distaste with many of their latest products, Sony Ericsson is reporting improving numbers in Q3 with high hopes for Q4 2009 as the much-anticipated Satio and Aino are released.

Numbers may be down drastically across the mobile landscape as the world recovers from the myriad of financial woes it has faced in 2009 but Sony Ericsson sees reason to stay positive as their numbers improve. After shipping a total of 25.7 million phones in Q3 2008, that number dropped to 14.1 million in Q3 2009, showing the drastic drop from last year but still an improvement of 300,000 handsets over last quarter.

Sony Ericsson will continue to restructure as it pushes its latest premium handsets, the Satio and Aino, out the door as the Christmas shopping season approaches. With lower operating costs and a revamp of what many customers see as a dying brand, an SE resurgence seems to be just around the corner.
