Google has released the software developers kit for Android 2.1, allowing developers to learn and adopt the new features available in this latest version of the mobile operating system.
Considering a minor release, the notes released by Google with the SDK suggest that developers refer to the Android 2.0 Platform Highlights notes for major changes as 2.1 adds only a few features. Those new features include new additions to the Framework API such as Live Wallpapers along with updates to the WebKit, Telephony and Views sections of the SDK.
The SDK is currently available; notes and download links can be found on the Android Developers Blog.
