Sony Ericsson has announced that the roll-out of its latest update for the Xperia family of smartphones has officially begun.
The update, bringing new features such as pinch-to-zoom and support for ANT+ to your favorite Xperia, will be made available for the X10, X10 Mini, X10 Mini Pro and X8, with the X10 getting the update first. Sony Ericsson has announced that its high-end Xperia X10, Xperia X10 Mini and Xperia X10 Mini Pro will all see an update to version 2.1 of the Google Android mobile operating system.
With the roll-out of Android 2.1 coming to Xperia handsets in Q3 2010, Sony Ericsson also promised that the X10 alone would receive further OS updates in Q4, giving the smartphone the ability to connect wirelessly to compatible televisions and record and export high definition video.
Wireless provider Vodafone UK has announced that the Sony Ericsson X10 Mini smartphone is now available on their network at no cost with a two-year commitment at £20 (about $29 USD) per month.
Powered by the Google Android mobile operating system, the X10 Mini sports the same custom interface seen on its larger sibling and sports features such as a five megapixel camera, WiFi and GPS.
