Verizon & Google to Offer Mobile Google Voice

VerizonWhile details are thinner than thin where the upcoming Google Android devices to be launched by Verizon Wireless are concerned, a recent webcast that hosted names such as Google CEO Eric Schmidt and Verizon CEO Lowell McAdam had all parties promising details soon.

Consistent references to a “family of devices” and suggestions that Verizon sees the Android market as vast indicate that American users should expect to see a wide variety of Android devices released in the coming year or two.

The biggest announcement came in the form of McAdam confirming that Verizon would support Google Voice. The promise came amid speculation that carriers would block the Google app for fear of it eating into profits from similar services already offered but this venture will apparently offer compatibility from the start with the first Verizon Android handset offering Google Voice support.
