Hardware manufacturer Marvell announced today that it will be releasing a new inexpensive platform for smartphones with the aim of making a wide range of $99 high-end handsets a reality in the near-future. Dubbed Pantheon, the platform fully supports Google Android, Windows Mobile and most other major mobile operating systems.
The Pantheon platform comes well equipped with an 800MHz or better ARM processor, a MIPI-compliant camera, RF interfaces, support for video standards such as 720p, DirectX, and Open GL ES 2.0 compliant 3D graphics.
