Microsoft Publishes iPhone to WinMo App Porting Guide

Windows Marketplace for MobileSeveral news sources are reporting that Microsoft has published a full guide for developers with instructions on how to port current iPhone applications to Windows Mobile 6.5 as the latter prepares the launch of its online application store. The guide, compiled by consulting firm Crimson Consulting, offers detailed instructions and demonstrations in order to make mobile developers comfortable with the transition of their skills to the WinMo platform.

Windows Marketplace for Mobile is scheduled to launch this coming fall; developers have already been given a development kit and can submit applications any time.

Windows Mobile Marketplace Soon Open to Submissions

MicrosoftMicrosoft has announced that their upcoming Windows Mobile Marketplace will open for app submissions starting on July 27. The same announcement, the first since developers were originally given access in May, also outlines Microsoft’s plan to make the Marketplace compatible with versions 6.0 and 6.1 of the mobile operating system by the end of the year.
