HTC Updates Desire Firmware

HTC has officially released version 2.10.405.2 of its Google Android variation for the popular Desire smartphone. This patch offers several fixes and features including enhancements to the multi-inbox support for Google Gmail and improvements to keyboard layouts in several languages.

The update can be downloaded over-the-air via your HTC Desire handset.

HTC Desire Gets First Firmware Update

It may be fresh out of the oven but HTC has already released the first firmware update for its Desire smartphone, bringing the device to version 1.15.405.4.

Other than the standard “best user experience” as offered with all firmware updates, HTC hasn’t specified exactly what changes have been made. HTC Desire owners can access the update at time via their phone’s menu with download taking place over the air. HTC is recommending that all users update via WiFi as the download itself will make for a spike in data usage.

Vodafone UK Begins HTC Desire Pre-orders

Wireless provider Vodafone UK has announced that pre-ordering is available for the highly anticipated HTC Desire smartphone, launching officially on April 8, 2010. Vodafone will offer the handset for free with a two-year contract agreement at a minimum £30 per month plan.

The HTC Desire, powered by the Google Android 2.1 operating system, sports the speedy Qualcomm Snapdragon processor at 1GHz, making it Flash 10.1 ready. Hardware features include a 3.7″ WVGA touchscreen display with multi-touch capability along with an optical joystick and the HTC Sense user interface.

Vodafone to Offer HTC Legend & Desire

Wireless provider Vodafone, based in the United Kingdom, has officially confirmed that they will offer both the HTC Legend and the HTC Desire smartphones, rounding out a very current lineup already graced by Google’s Nexus One.

While details concerning pricing and release remain sparse, the company did indicate that it would integrate its services, such as Vodafone Music and MyWeb, into HTC’s popular Sense user interface with the hopes of offering one of the most intuitive and user-friendly smartphone experiences to date.

Vodafone is expected to release further details concerning availability later this week.
