Google Releases Listen App for Android

Google AndroidGoogle Labs has released yet another free application, this one intended for Android users, enabling them to search easily for podcasts and other audio found on the internet. Google Listen allows its users to use their search results to download directly or stream live over-the-air as well as managing subscriptions to feeds and specific searching protocols.

A simultaneous announcement let users know that Google Image search has also been updated for mobile users, offering a cleaner interface when viewing thumbnails and offering up a larger image size and direct page link from the details page.

The updates to Google’s image search are inherent and Android users can download Google Listen for free from the Android marketplace.

Samsung Expects to Release Low-Cost Android Devices

SamsungIn a recent interview with the New York Times, Samsung’s Product Manager for the Samsung Reclaim, Casey Ryan, indicated that consumers will likely have access to a variety of touchscreen devices running Google Android and priced below $100 USD. The article offers little in the way of context so it isn’t clear whether Ryan was speaking of the industry in general or Samsung in particular but, either way, it should be clear to all analysts that Samsung expects to play some role with that type of offering in the future.
