Acer has announced its first foray into the Google Android smartphone market with the Acer A1 Liquid. Powered by Google Android 1.6, the A1 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, sports a large Wide VGA touchscreen display and offers high-speed HSPA connectivity.
While details are sparse in the press release, Acer does promise extended battery life through improved power management and a lighter, less power-hungry user interface. Along with the general features found in the Android mobile operating system, the A1 Liquid will also come pre-installed with Acer’s Spinlets application, a program that provides access to free music and video via a streaming service.
Red, white and black color schemes were announced but little in the way of pricing or availability details were made available in this initial press release.
