Skyfire, the popular mobile browser, has now entered beta status for its Blackberry incarnation. The previous alpha version worked but failed to offer many features that are now available in the beta including keyboard shortcuts, using Skyfire as the default browser and improving zooming functions.

Skyfire’s popularity grew in large part due to its price (free) and its support of things like Flash 10, JavaScript, Silverlight, AJAX and media formats like Quicktime. The Blackberry beta can be installed by visiting skyfire.com on the device itself.
