A recent report compiled by mobile research firm Distimo indicates that users of the Google Android mobile operating system are sitting pretty where app download fees are concerned.
With the inevitable direct comparisons to the Apple iPhone being made, the report shows that a full 57 percent of the apps to be found on the Google Android Market are absolutely free while only 28 percent of iPhone apps are offered at no charge.
As Android continues to spread throughout the market, it will be small but measurable bonuses like this that help to set it apart from Apple’s offerings.
