iPhone 3.0 Gets Google Search with My Location

iPhone OS 3.0iPhone owners using firmware version 3.0 can now utilize My Location, a Google search service that offers up local listings using location-based data retrieved wirelessly. This allows for more intuitive searching – for example, a person searching for a doctor in New York would need only type “doctor” and My Location offers up results for the local area.

The service is currently available only to iPhone users in the United States and United Kingdom with more regions to be available soon. Users need simply surf to Google with the Safari browser and enter their location settings to begin taking advantage.
