Apple Releases Excellent Q3 2010 Report

Apple has unveiled its business numbers for the third quarter of the fiscal year 2010, posting record revenue and profit.

With $15.7 billion in revenue accounting for $3.25 billion in profit, Apple has registered a 77 percent increase in profits since Q2 with a $6 billion growth in revenue. Those numbers stem from the solid sales of both iPad and iPhone devices; Apple sold 8.4 million smartphones in the third quarter, a 61 percent increase over Q3 2009. In part due to iPhone sales, the iPod saw a drop in sales of 8 percent; Mac computers round out Apple’s lineup with a 33 percent increase over the same quarter last year.
